Smiling Hearts began in Hong Kong with a group of friends who all struggled with depression, but loved to create beautiful things. Working together with fabrics, needles and thread, and modeling clay, they discovered that emotional challenges feel a little more bearable when making art with friends. Now an established social enterprise under Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, Smiling Hearts is still a place where women with depression can come together to find support, learn new skills and create products that generate income for them and their families.
