Earthbound Creations is a social enterprise that treads lightly on the local environment by recycling waste materials and using eco-friendly processes from start to finish. They employ mostly women from the village of Udaperadeniya, in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Many of their artisans are mothers who feel empowered by flexible work opportunities that enable them to work during school hours or from home while minding small children. Earthbound has also set up education and investment programmes for their artisans and their families, after noticing that many village women wanted more information and experience in how to manage savings for the future.
